Besides the hand-print ornaments from yesterday, I’ve kept up with my goal of being crafty every week from my birthday goals. Between sending out my first handwritten letter and making Christmas crafts it’s almost feels like cheating. I know once I finish up the last of the Christmas gifts that it’s going to take a little more motivation and creativity to come up with things to create. I guess that’s something I’ll worry about later. For now I thought I’d give you a glimpse of some of the things I’ve been working on. Sadly I can share everything quite yet as I’m pretty sure at least half of the gifts are going to people who read this blog. Sorry for the teasers but I need something to hold me accountable!
I just finished up this wreath project! It looks really cool and I can’t wait to show you the finished piece. For now, here’s some clues. Aren’t these gifts adorably wrapped?! I’m really into the brown tags with the jute these days. If you’re interested in making your own tags this year, its super simple. I got the brown tags from Michael’s and used a strip of washi tape to give it a pop of color. And then with some Christmas themed stamps and black ink I stamped each tag and BAM! Super easy, super cute tags. I love the personal touch they give each gift and look below at how good they look with coordinating wrapping. Here’s another project I’ve been working on. This simple pine-cone garland is so easy to make and looks amazing. I started off by painting the tips of each pine-cone gold. Once dry just use hot glue to attach them to a long piece of jute equal distance apart. When the hot glue has cured, attach bows with a little more hot glue. I love the look of these. I don’t know if you can tell but there are a few silver glittered pine-cone on the mantle. Sophie made these by painting mod podge on the tips of the pine-cones and then rolling them around in silver glitter until all the glue was covered. I think these would look great with a little red bow on top. I’m also thinking of gluing a loop of jute on the tops to make them into ornaments. For now I’m thinking I need to frame that other Santa Claus picture so my mantle area doesn’t look so incomplete!
Any craft projects you’ve been working on? Send me some pictures, I’d love to see them!
